Just Shut up, will you?

So, you think you’ve had a bad date? Well, I assure you it could be worse...much worse
.

Not dating for some time makes everyone of us consider dating outside the box.
But  when does “considering other options”  turn into lowering standards? And then... how low is too low?

Honesty is the key to every relationship - as our mothers say. I can already imagine many of you will roll eyes and disagree - if you happen to be doing so right now, it means you are just bitter, disappointed and probably haven’t had sex for a while. Well, welcome to the club. Just try not to slit your wrists before you finish reading this, as that would be terribly impolite towards the author.

When I date, I like to have a bit of time to believe that this time might be different. I truly appreciate this, so please allow to me believe we are normal and it’s the other people who are crazy. Allow me to believe you are normal. It is called - earning somebodys trust, getting to know each other - that is until that ‘kinky sex’ date at least.

There’s nothing more sexy than a good boy that can go bad...and yes it is true - women looooove bad boys...in the bedroom. I expect to be respected, treated as the lady that I am - and that includes; opening doors, lifting heavy objects, and being wined and dined.  When entering the bedroom, I expect to leave all the morality, proper behavior and delicacy on the other side of the door. Most women do.
...and here must be a “but”, so here it goes  - but women will do all that in a right time!

The Great Wall of Vagina

Ever dreamed to get into pussy heaven? Well, sculptor Jamie McCartney will make it happen during Brighton Fringe Festival that starts in may this year. After five years of hard work (between ladies legs) he finally finished his project "The Great Wall of Vagina".

From Freud`s theory of agression  to  the source of Victorian shame and sin - the vagina was always a problem in cultural discourse. Modern society, with it's ultra public media characteristic, has helped us to accept the fact that, "down there" women are not sleek and smooth Barbie dolls but have parts that are a lot of fun and what`s more, they actually enjoy to have fun with them...they demand it. This process however, has put pressure on sexuality and so nowadays in the age of labia plastic surgery, porn that is easier to access than educational tv shows and human value  based on physical appearance, standards of beauty are being created not only for our faces, breasts, booties and legs but also for genitals which instead of being a center of our sexual identity, the symbol of intimacy and pride become a source of frustration and shame.

It took a man to contribute to empowerment of women. A man who sees vagina not only as a symbol of sex but a source of individuality. I have been observing his project for quite a while- fascinated by its simplicity and power. The Great Wall of Vagina is an exploration of women's relationships with their genitals.  Says McCartney. When I assembled the first panel of 40 casts, arranged in a grid, I stepped back disappointed. I realised the sculpture would need to be much bigger to have the impact I wanted. From this original piece (called Design A Vagina) has grown an epic sculpture. The final piece now has 400 casts arranged in 10 panels of 40.

"Why did I do it and what's it all about?" I hear you ask. Well, vulvas and labia are as different as a faces and many people, particularly women, don't seem to know that. Men tend to have seen more than women, who have often only seen their own, and many have never looked that closely. Hence the exposure of so many, showing the variety of shapes is endlessly fascinating, empowering and comforting. For many women their genitals are a source of shame rather than pride and this piece seeks to redress the balance, showing that everyone is different and everyone is normal.

Included are examples of male to female and female to male transsexuals, a virgin, a porn star and some women with some elaborate piercings. Ages so far range from 18 year old students to a grandmother of 76. I really wanted to include as many possibilities as I could. I spent the entire 5 years seeking a victim of female genital mutilation who would like to be included but sadly without success. The more inclusive and complete I could be in this survey the more power this sculpture would have.
McCartney will be creating one more panel of 40 casts for women`s charity auction. If you would like to take part, you can contact him now and showw off your pussy with pride!

Three's Company: A Girl's Guide to Threesomes

By Kitty Stryker
Threesomes are one of those intriguing things that seem to be at the forefront of sexual bucket lists for people, whether it be in the fantasies of lad mag-lovin’ men, the bitter reality of couples seeking that unicorn third (the unicorn being a hot bi babe that puts out), or of course girls like me who think if one cock is good, two is even better. There’s that memorable threesome with the guys in Shortbus, and the L Word has more than one in the series- everyone’s getting in on the action, and have been for a while!
But honestly, it’s hard enough getting ONE person into bed and figuring out their turn ons and turn offs, what positions work for your bodies, and how to be truly present. Adding another person may seem like madness- and frankly, it can be complicated. You need to be really in touch with yourself and what you hope to get out of the experience, and be able to tactfully make sure everyone else is on board. Threesomes are pretty easy to fuck up, and if you don’t do some soul searching and communicating ahead of time, you’ll have two people angry, not one! So listen up. And remember- these are just tips from my experience, they may serve you, they may not. It’s a place to start.

A little bit of selflessness, please!

by Emily Johnson

Ok ladies, I am sure you are all too familiar with the five minute deep thrusting, grunting session, which too quickly ends in a contently twitching man and an unsatisfied woman, and the men that think this kind of behavior is perfectly acceptable.
I implore you to seriously question this. What's happening here? Who raised these men to be so selfish? Shame on their mothers and the sequential women in their lives who put up with this bullshit and let it go on for so long, unchecked! This kind of behavior from a teenage boy is one thing, but a man in his late 20's and 30's to behave so childishly is unacceptable. It is up to us to take a stand and demand a bit more respect and fairness in the bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, tennis court... anywhere and everywhere!

What's the Problem with the Boys?

by Emily Johnson

Ah Krakow, how doth I love thee so. From the moment I stepped off the bus in 2005 and walked dreamy-eyed into the rynek, I was head over heals for this magical, medieval city; with its hilltop castle and fire breathing dragon, bell towers, folklore and tragic Polish past... I could find nothing to fault. A few years later I would be calling this bastion of history home and even though this city still fills me with inspiration and joy, there is much that has come to frustrate me to no end, and I am not alone. The most irritating concern at the moment for many of us single women, is the problem with men.

Polish and expatriate men alike; decent and available men in Krakow are hmmm, few and far between, to put it lightly. This being said, Polish and expatriate women alike are flummoxed, and well, at their wits end. Women in our 20's and early 30's, we are educated, attractive and represent a fairly eclectic mix of personas and desires – yet we all seem to suffer from the same diabolical dilemma; the lack of dateable men. Hours upon hours of debating and pondering have been devoted to this most dubious subject. In bars over vodka drinks - in cozy homes in the dead of winter over bottles of wine – in beer gardens in springtime over too many Tyskie – on the river bank, on the tram, on the telephone while walking to work, through Skype, Facebook and any other online chat you can think of... OK, you get the point; it's been discussed, at length. So conclusions? Well, that's the most frustrating part! We're more or less, at a loss for any definitive conclusion for the lack in the male demography. Hard to meet, the majority of Polish men come across shy and insecure; hiding behind thema tall beers and swarm of male compatriots at the bar. Getting them to engage in any sort of worthwhile conversation is more like pulling teeth than flirting. Awash with mother issues, lack of self-esteem, unrealistic fantasies of the perfect female - 'relationships' are often very short-lived and provide more fuel for the fire of our wine induced rant sessions than anything else. Don't get me wrong, there are a few great men here; married or in long-term relationships, or the quirky, whip-smart male characters we call 'friends' – undateable to most of us, but loved regardless. They make us smile and provide countless hours of entertainment as the perfect uninhibited drinking companions.

But our problem remains, and how widespread this dilemma is is of great interest to us all. So, we implore you, oh great single women of Krakow; share your stories, woos and wonders with us – if we can't 'fix' our 'situation', at least we can bitch about it to our vexed hearts' content.
